I was actually thinking that the way to get her into it, if at all, was to introduce her to current contemporary bands that cover and/or sample the GD - like The Decembrists, Animal Collective, or even that older guy, Ryan Adams.

I've found that Reckoning was a nice way to introduce folks to the "canon" back in the day.
